Teen Book Review of the Week – Oct. 8, 2007

The Areas of My Expertise by John Hodgman – 228 p. 5 stars

The Areas of My Expertise is an almanac of all world history and contains everything except research, facts and truth. It is the only book I have ever read that can tell you all the United States presidents that had hooks for hands or the entire history of the 51 states. Whether you like hobo names or pharaohs that have ruled Germany, this book has something for you.

“Whether you like hobo names or pharaohs that have ruled Germany, this book has something for you.”

The above statement implies that this book will not have something for you, because you don’t like either of those things (unless you are very strange). Let me assure you that many people who like completely different things will also find that the book has “something for them.”

Not “pharoahs that have ruled Germany,” rather “kaisers that have ruled Egypt.”

Easy to get the two confused.
