Teen Book Review of the Week – Oct. 22, 2007

Fever, 17935 stars by Laurie Halse Anderson – 251 p.

I think Laurie Halse Anderson has really outdone herself. Fever, 1793 is a fantastic historical fiction book about malaria (yellow fever). In Fever, 1793 14 year-old Matilda Cook is always being bossed around by her mother. The waterfront is now buzzing with news about malaria and suddenly Mattie’s mother is affected. I strongly recommend this book. I learned so much more about the yellow fever epidemic than I ever did before!!!
