What should we call you?
Where can we find you?
If I’m not at Capitol Hill, I’m at Montlake. If I’m not at Montlake, I’m probably at Capitol Hill.
Why teen services?
I think people aged 12-18 are pretty fascinating. I enjoy helping them find books and words that will lead to self sufficiency and confidence.
Favorite reference resource (print and/or online)?
Oh that’s so hard! I use so many, but I’ll try to pick one that no one has mentioned yet – inogolo (http://inogolo.com/). I’m awful with pronunciation (my mom calls it the “Reader’s Curse” when you learn a word via reading that you don’t know how to say aloud), and inogolo lets you type in a word or a name of a person or a place and it pronounces it for you! This is also a great site if you’re learning English and want to practice how to say certain words.
Favorite book of all time and favorite book right now?
Favorite book of all time: “Emily of New Moon” by L. M. Montgomery because it taught me that it was okay to have an imagination and to believe in magic everyday
Favorite book right now: “Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before” by David Yoo because it taught me what it might feel like to be a 16 year old nerdy Korean-American boy
You live in Seattle – To umbrella or not to umbrella?
I ride a scooter most of the time, so I wear a silly oversized rain jacket most of the time
The best thing about living in Seattle is…
June through September
We know you love Seattle but where would you most like to live?
An old farmhouse or church in the country somewhere, probably when I’m retired and can sit around all day making art and reading!
