Komal's Faves Part 2

Hey people, Komal here again! Here are some more interesting books I read this summer:

Komal Reading

South Beach by Aimee Friedman
This book is about two ex-best friends who come together again and go on a trip South Beach. There’s Alexa who feels comfortable with the wild and crazy parties and then there is Holly who has finally got a break from her strict parents. But when Holly thinks she has found her true love, Alexa ends up liking the same guy. How far will they go? You should read this book to find out.

The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini
Amir and Hassan are childhood friends who grew up in the bright sunny city of Kabul. Both are motherless, but they grew up as close brothers. They have very different lives, Amir is the son of a wealthy merchant and Hassan and his father are the servants for them. They come from different castes but that doesn’t change them from enjoying each other’s company. Everything was going well until the invasion of the Soviet Army. Years later Amir returns from America in search of his long lost friend. This book is very touching. Read it to find out what happens!

Homeless Bird by Gloria Whelan
Thirteen-year-old Koly was forced into an arranged marriage. Unfortunately, her husband, who was always a very sick person later died. She found out that the marriage was only so that the groom’s family could get the dowry. Her life had been sold. Despite this tragedy the outcome was actually good.  She sets out to start a remarkable future.  An interesting fact about this book was that it was inspired by a newspaper article about a real 13 year old girl.
