Summer Fun: Theatre

Outdoor theatre is the perfect summer entertainment; imagine sitting in the sun, having a picnic with family or friends, watching a play on the lawn just a few feet away—and it didn’t cost you a dime! What could be better?

If this sounds like your idea of a good time, then Green Stage is what you want. They are the ones who do the touring Shakespeare in the Park performances every summer, and they are back again this year with performances of Antony and Cleopatra and The Tempest. Starting July 8th, you can see these performances at parks all around Seattle, including Volunteer Park, Seward Park, Woodland Park, Judkins Park, Lincoln Park, Discovery Park, Camp Long, and Magnuson Park. Check here for the full schedule.

Green Stage also hosts the Outdoor Theatre Festival at Volunteer Park on July 9th and 10th. There will be performances from many Seattle theatres, including As You Like It and The Merchant of Venice from Last Leaf Productions, Macbeth and The Comedy of Errors from Seattle Shakespeare Company’s Wooden O, In the Enchanted Forest from Open Circle Theatre, The Lost Folio from Wing-It Productions, and more. And of course, it’s all free, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to see some quality performances!
