Book Shorts: This Lullaby

This Lullaby

Title:  This Lullaby

Author:  Sarah Dessen

Summary: Raised by a mother who’s had five husbands, eighteen-year-old Remy believes in short-term, no-commitment relationships until she meets Dexter, a rock band musician.

I started reading it because… I was bored and wanted to read something that was about a real-life situation. Nothing too crazy or wild like aliens taking over the world–something more down to earth.

I kept reading because… I fell in love with the characters! I could relate to Remy and Dexter and I felt like I knew them. They were so real and believable–every thought and reaction was relatable.

Main character(s): If they were in a yearbook, they would be voted Most Likely To Be:  “Most Un-Likely Couple” — but hey, it works!

Six Word Recap:  Girl meets boy.

This book reminded me of Sloppy Firsts because… because the characters are so tangible yet quirky and everyone loves a complicated love story!
