Book Review: The Art of Racing in the Rain

I recently finished reading the book, The Art of Racing in the Rain by Garth Stein. This book was recommended to me by a friend and I was looking forward to reading it. However, it was nothing like what I expected. The story is about a family of four, Denny, Eve, Zoë, and Enzo (the dog), and the book talks about their life. The story is told from Enzo’s perspective. I was expecting his thoughts to be funny and light, but they were actually quite interesting and thoughtful, yet still humorous at times.

I would recommend this book to anyone, not just dog lovers. It has some great messages, told in a non-traditional way. Garth Stein’s writing is very descriptive and wonderful in my opinion. I hope you will read and enjoy this great story. However, be prepared: it’s a tearjerker.
