Have you ever heard someone say that a book is and can be like a movie? Well, this is a very true statement indeed. If you’re looking for a read of this nature then I definitely recommend Rachel Reiland’s well-written book Get Me Out of Here. The book’s rollercoaster plot, controversial content and vivid account of personal struggles will definitely keep you (and truly anyone) engaged until the very end.
Brave author Rachel Reiland tells her story while possessing a great and powerful honesty throughout the pages, so much so that you’re bound to be laughing and potentially crying along with this book. The book is a real life account of someone with BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder). Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking “why should I read a book about something that does not affect me?” The best answer I have for you is that throughout these pages I bet you’ll find a piece of Rachel that you connect with. She, like the rest of us is nothing but human and is quite easy to connect with due to the honesty within her writing.
Before reading this book I didn’t have a very good idea of the inner turmoil one with this disorder faces. I personally found it interesting to read a first-person story of a disorder that I’d previously only ever seen in medical books. This book brings up a variety of issues including family and friend relationships, therapist boundaries and the challenge of therapy, sexuality, hope, personal-exploration and much much more. Once again I must reiterate the fact that this book is both an intense and gripping read.
