Teen Poetry — Stars by Rachel

Stars
She carries the stars in her eye.
The darkness follows her wherever she goes.
Her hair is as white as the moon.
On her neck is the mark of a crescent moon.

Who is she?
She is the daughter of the night sky.

Her beauty is unmatched by any person on earth.
Princes pursue her,
Propose marriage and their kingdoms for her.
She no longer wants anything in this world.
Only to be reunited with her mother,
The night sky.

Who is he?
The prince of the dawn.

His voice is like the chirping of the birds.
The sunrise follows him wherever he goes.
His hair is as golden as the sun.
On the inside of his wrist is the mark of a rising sun.

He loves her more than any prince in the world.
Even when she turns him away,
He continues to come to her.
And she begins to fall in love
With the dawn.

Who is she?
The night sky.

She wears the entire sky on her dress.
Her eyes shine like a thousand moons.
When she walks on earth,
The night passes over the world.

She tries to break them apart.
But fate brings them together.
They are the star-crossed lovers.
And when the night sky kills the dawn,
The daughter takes her own life.

Where are they now?
Stars in the night sky for everyone to see.
