Teen Poetry — Poems by Lexi

Black

Black as the night sky
Black as a cold hearted person
Black as the feeling you get
when you have to face your fears
Black as the mascara tears rolling down your cheeks Black as sitting in the corner of your room waiting for the monsters in your head to go away.
Beauty
You might look beautiful from the out side but we all know beauty is hard to keep when you just try to be yourself

Human
People might think that that you’re different or weird.
But really we are all the same,
human.
No skin color
no clothing brand,
nothing
we are just the same,
human.
