Recently, I was searching iTunes and I discovered an amazing thing… Librivox! “LibriVox volunteers read and record chapters of books in the public domain (books no longer under copyright), and make them available for free on the Internet” (from www.librivox.org).  I was utterly shocked and very pleasantly surprised when I discovered this. BECAUSE IT’S FREE! With nothing being free these days, I was amazed that iTunes didn’t charge anything.

Downloading these audio books will allow you to catch up on your reading, even if school work gets overwhelming. All the books recorded by Librivox are “in the public domain” which means that they were written before 1923. This may be disappointing to some, but for many others it is an opportunity to catch up on the classics. You can download anything from “Aesop’s Fables” and the Declaration of Independence to “War and Peace” and “Pride and Prejudice.” I highly recommend downloading several books off of iTunes from Librivox and visiting their website.

And of course, don’t forget that the library has free digital books that you can access any time with your library card and PIN!
