Teen Space! Now @ Beacon Hill!

Teen SpaceNeed a space to hang out and have fun? Come to Teen Space at Beacon Hill, it’s a time just for teens to meet up and hang out!

Teen Space at Beacon Hill is a time set aside just for teens ages 12-18 to meet up and hang out.  Why not get out of the house for a while and head to the library? Come alone or bring your friends — then make new friends!

We’ll have snacks (a must), music, and games.  Plus, each month there will be a fun activity.  We’re sure you’ll help us keep it interesting.

Teen Space = a time for you to be creative and have fun, all for free.

Spring Break at the Library!

springflowers1-creativecommons It seems that every year, Spring Break comes around and I am once again left in rainy Seattle while everyone and their dog heads off to some sunny vacation resort. If you are in the same boat as me, fear not! The Library is offering a wide range of activities during the week of Spring Break (April 14th – 18th) so that you don’t have to spend your week off gloomily clicking through photo albums from the Bahamas on your friends’ Facebook walls. Here are some of the highlights of the 2014 Spring Break activities.

Event: Teen Space The World of Divergent

Divergent-at-SWTDo you love Divergent, personality quizzes, games, snacks, or PRIZES?  If so, then come to the Teen Space: The World of Divergent program at the Southwest Branch.  Take the faction-quiz, participate in the choosing ceremony, try to become Divergent, and win some FABULOUS prizes.  Here are the details:

Teen SpaceNeed a space to be creative and have fun? Come to Teen Space @ Southwest. This month we’ll be creating temporary tattoos with henna and creating a display for the library for Banned Books week. Of course, we’ll have our regular line up of Teen Space activities: snacks, games, art, books, and conversation, too.

Friday, Sept. 20th from 2:30 – 4:30 pm @ Southwest.

  •  Teen Space presents: End of Summer Pizza Party Ballard 1:30 – 3:30 pm. Need a space to be creative and have fun? Come to Teen Space at the Ballard Branch — it’s a place to meet up and hang out! Join us for an end of summer pizza party. For ages 12-18.
  • Africa Sing! Africa Dance! @ NewHolly 1:30 – 2:30pm. Join Etienne Cakpo for an interactive performance of singing, clapping and dancing. Everyone will enjoy songs and dances from Africa. For all ages.
