ukalaliensWhat’s going on? Learn to play familiar folk songs on the ukuelele in one hour.  Absolute beginners welcome!  Ukes available to share or bring your own.

When and Where? Tuesday, July 23rd (today!) from 11:00am – 12:00pm @ Northgate.

Why should we care? Who hasn’t wanted to play the ukuelele at one point in their life?  Now here’s your chance!  By the end of the day, you’ll be able to say that you’ve played the ukuelele, and met some new faces!  Plus, you can earn a SRP badge for attending!

Who would enjoy it the most? This program is designed for tweens, teens, and adults.

  • Duct Tape and Bling @ Madrona/Sally Goldmark 2 – 4 pm.  Explore duct tape creations and create your own bling out of things you can buy at a hardware store.  Materials and snacks provided, plus the chance to win new books!  For tweens and teens.
  • Summer Teen Space @ Douglass-Truth 4 – 5:30 pm Need a space to be creative & have fun?  Come to Teen Space!  It’s a time set aside just for teens to meet up and hang out.  Join us this summer for weekly fun with books, games, snacks, and prizes.  For ages 12-18.

  • Teen Space presents: MarkerSpace @ Northeast 3 – 5 pm.  Need  space to be creative and have fun?  Come to Teen Space at the Northeast Branch!  This month, make duct tape creations, felt creatures, buttons and more.  For ages 12-18.
  • Game On! @ High Point 3:15 – 5:15 pm.  Come to the Library for board games, and open Kinect and Wii play.  For tweens and teens.
  • Books on Bikes @ Cyclefest 5 – 10:45 pm.  The Seattle Public Library’s Books on Bikes will be at Cyclefest.
